Artist's Description

Named for those magnificent cedars.. here's one more from that brisk mid-April morning at Gooseberry Falls State Park on Lake Superior's North Shore. Ice-out had occurred only the previous week, so the river was absolutely roaring. I had gone there to soak up some of that spring melt, and came across this incredible scene in which the sun was illuminating the river spray, which had left a rather impressive coating of ice on this patch of trees. A testament to the power of that water, now unleashed.

About Mary Amerman

Mary Amerman

Thanks for visiting my photography page. I live on a hillside above the Great Lake Superior, with a trail into the North Woods leading out from the back yard. I feel fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, and find photographic inspiration here year round. I hope you enjoy my perspective. "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." ~Henry David Thoreau
